Jocelyns World: Create Intuitively, Build Creatively, DIY Deliciously (Life!)
At Jocelyns World, our mission is simple: to empower DIY enthusiasts with the knowledge and confidence to create intuitively, build creatively, and DIY their way to a more fulfilling life. We believe that amazing DIY projects start not with rigid instructions but with understanding the fundamentals—the building blocks that make projects successful and personal expression flourish. Whether you’re tackling woodworking, crafting, home repairs, or upcycling projects, we’ll guide you through the “why” as much as the “how-to.”
Our Story
This DIY dreamland was handcrafted by two seasoned makers, Jocelyn Ramirez and David Miller, whose decades of combined DIY experience have been shaped by their shared philosophy: DIY should be both joyful and empowering. After transitioning from careers that felt less creatively fulfilling, they found themselves reigniting their lifelong passion for making things—and decided to share it with others who crave deeper connections to the things they create and the world around them.
Jocelyn brings her artistic flair and a love for colorful, whimsical projects to Jocelyns World, while David infuses his engineering background and a knack for practical, functional builds into every project guide and tutorial. Together, they’ve explored DIY techniques and materials from around the world (both literally and figuratively) to curate a collection of projects and tips that span skill levels, styles, and DIY disciplines—all united by timeless principles of resourceful making.
Why we started Jocelyns World
Unlike many DIY blogs, we go beyond just providing step-by-step project instructions. Yes, we offer inspiring project ideas from all areas of DIY, but we also dive deep into the why behind each technique. Why does proper joinery matter in woodworking? How does color theory impact a craft project? When does choosing the right tool make all the difference? And how can understanding materials transform your DIY skills? By mastering these elements, you’ll unlock endless possibilities in your own DIY world.
We celebrate the beauty of imperfection and the joy of making, too. DIY isn’t about achieving flawless perfection—it’s about experimentation, learning by doing, and savoring the process of bringing your ideas to life. That’s why we encourage you to trust your instincts, adapt projects to your own style and resources, and above all, enjoy the journey of creating.
